Job Summary: Under the direction of the assigned Supervisor/Manager, the Housekeeper is a fundamental part of the team that provides supportive services in the Home. This role may be assigned tasks that include:  

-       Cleaning and maintaining assigned areas of the facility in a sanitary condition.

-       General laundry duties including sorting, loading and folding of laundry and delivering to neighbourhoods.

-       Responsible for maintaining all assigned areas and equipment in sanitary condition.

-       Supporting residents to “live well” according to assigned tasks, within scope of employment

Qualifications:

·         Grade Twelve (12) required or equivalent.

·         Knowledge and ability to operate and clean institutional equipment (kitchen, laundry, and sanitation)

·         Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.

·         Must be comfortable working with seniors with varying levels of disability.

·         Experience in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment

·         Preference to candidates who have recently completed the National Sanitation Program.

·         Working knowledge of WHMIS legislation.

·         Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis.

·         Must provide a clear Criminal Record Check and clear Vulnerable Sector Check.

 SCOPE OF POSITION: The Cook is responsible for food preparation and service of meals in accordance with the menu. Maintains high standard of safety and sanitation in cleaning of equipment and work areas. Provides staff training, guidance, and supervises as required. Assists in planning menus and prepares caterings as required.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Grade Twelve (12) required or equivalent.

·         Completion of one (1) year community college quantity cooking course.

·         Recent completion of National Sanitation Program including working knowledge and experience in HACCP procedures.

·         Working knowledge of WHMIS legislation.

·         Experience working in maintaining a safe & sanitary work environment.

·         Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis.

Job Summary:

The Physiotherapist reports to the Director of Quality and Professional Practice and oversees the delivery of physiotherapy services to seniors living in long term care. The physiotherapist completes assessments, develops treatment plans, collaborates with colleagues to determine care plan goals, oversees the physiotherapy team effectiveness, and provides clinical supervision to PT assistants The physiotherapist regularly educates long term care staff, residents and family members in several areas including falls management, safe resident handling and mobility. Effective leadership in a multidisciplinary team is a requirement of this position as the physiotherapist co-chairs the Falls Prevention and Safe Resident Handling & Mobility Committees.

Qualifications:

·         Masters or Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy

·         Physiotherapy License in Good Standing with the Nova Scotia College or Physiotherapists

·         Previous experience in assessment and treatment planning in in-patient acute care, geriatrics and/or long term care

·         Thorough knowledge of Physiotherapy practice, with an interest in continuous quality improvement in long term care

·         Strong person-directed care and quality focus

• Replenishes supplies
• Reports defective equipment or linens to the Facility Support Manager
• Is familiar with facility Policies and Procedures, Fire and Safety, and Emergency procedures and carries out guidelines of same
• Attends staff education sessions as required
• Performs other related duties as required
